Actor Jake Cuenca has revealed that he is dating someone and is ready to take to the next level once he meets the right woman for him.
Jake, star of the television series “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo,” made the revelation after the special press screening of his afternoon soap, adding he is emotionally ready for a new relationship but not in a hurry to find one permanent partner. Sunstar’s Glaiza Jarloc reported on the interview.
Jake said he wants to take his time and wishes that the next person who will come to his life would be “the one.”
“I just learn from all the mistakes I committed before and I’m ready to go to that next level and further commit myself,” he said.
“‘Yun ang naging problema ko (that has been my problem) in all my relationships in the past,” he said.” I can honestly say now na kaya ko na siyang ibigay ngayon (I can give it now).”
“‘Pag nasabi ko na ‘yung words na (When I say the words) ‘I love you,’ this time around I really, really am going to dedicate myself to that person, whoever she is,” said Jake.
The young actor said his newest Kapamilya Gold series opened his eyes to the happiness and contentment of having a wife and a family.
“Parang ang sarap ng feeling ng may asawa ka, may anak ka pero hindi pa ako ready for that (It feels good to have a wife and a child but I’m not yet ready for that). But this role is teaching me other things. It’s an eye opener na masaya ‘yung ganung buhay (that such is a happy life),” he said.
He disclosed that he is confident that when the right woman comes to his life, he will just feel the need to be with her and to not let her go away.
“I figured na pag nakilala ko ‘yung taong ‘yun, at alam ko na, na siya ‘yung gusto kong makasama, dun ko masasabi kung anong edad, anong hinahanap ko sa babae (I figured out that once I meet that person, I would know that she’s the one. Then I would say how old and what I’m looking for a girl),” he said, adding: “Let’s just wait for that person, baka andiyan lang siya (she might just be around).”
When asked if there’s a possibility of him falling for someone outside his entertainment circle, Jake said he’s open for anyone and will continue to look for her, whether in showbiz or not.
“You can never tell. Ang sa akin hindi naman importante kung anong trabaho ng isang tao, pag nakita ko na siya, eh, ‘yun na ‘yun, alam ko na ‘yun. I’ll just wait for that. Malay ninyo nakita ko na pala (What she does is not important to me. I will accept her for what she is. Who knows, I found her already),” he said.
Meanwhile, Jake is set to fly to Singapore this Holy Week with his family for a three-day vacation.
Jake said the trip is his treat to his parents, siblings and nephew.
Said he: “Pinangako ko yun sa baby sister ko and sa nephew ko na pag mataas ang grades nila sa school, eh dadalhin ko sila dun. Time to pay up”.
Jake’s main agenda is to tour her sister at the Universal Studios Singapore.
